The French know of baseball, but they don't like it. Baseball is virtually unknown in the Arab world, but it's distant cousin, cricket, is sometimes played in Egypt, Kuwait, and Bahrain.

Don't get too surprised if you encounter baseball overseas.
It is the number one sport in:
Japan
South Korea
Cuba
Dominican Republic
Puerto Rico
Venezuela
Nicaragua
Panama
Taiwan

It is *not* the major sport, but well known in:
Canada
Mexico
Colombia
Netherlands
Italy
Australia
China

If you haven't noticed, these are different countries. Just because a culture has a liking to baseball doesn't mean they have a special mentality. In most of Europe and South America (except Venezuela) baseball is seen as a kids game.

Why should they care. It was a fluke that the Japanese learned of baseball and liked it.
