I found a nice big pack of 48 eyeshadows but it will last me a long time. How long should they stay good for once opened?

well it depends on the way you keep the kit..............just keep it in a cool place ....not under sun or something hot place.............keep it kool..........keep its cover close wen not in ( not even wen u r really in a bad mood) use................try and use different eyeshadow brush ( lol I don't know its real name I call this only) for different shades.......................thats it.............then it can last long for years.............well their specific date of expiry is mostly 2-3 years

Six months to a year. With use, bacteria and moisture will enter the pack and just fester. Sometimes it doesn't affect people, but for optimal safety try to stick to that timeline and keep the eyeshadow out of moist areas, like in your bathroom, and out of direct sunlight, which ages the makeup. If the color ever changes or it ever smells funny, toss it. Oh and invest in a makeup case, a good quality one, it will extend the life of some products.

It depends what type of eyeshadow.
If it is powder, it will last for a very long time - until you finish it. It will probably last up to 10 yrs, unless you finish it first.
If it is cream shadow, those have shorter shelf lives. I believe it's about 3 yrs, but some may only last 2 yrs.

Once exposed to air cosmetics can start degrading within 2 weeks. According to what I have ready from the health industry if you use makeup brush or one-use applicator for cosmentic you can keep them 6 months. Cosmetics industry says 8-14 months in what I have read.

keep it in a cool dry place and closed it up each time you use it and it should last a couple of years if not more..when it starts cracking and making a powdery consistency, it mite be time to toss it...

it can stay on for about 6-7 hours if you're running around and being active but if you're not probably 9 hours
