I think you might mean the "zapping" you can get from the nerves being compressed during pregnancy. This can happen a lot in the arms and wrists. It's a type of carpal tunnel, it's from all the extra blood, swelling and weight associated with pregnancy.
You can also get it in the legs, toes, tummy (from baby moving just right) and down the hips from sciatic (which is really bad). It usually comes and goes, but if it gets too bad tell your doc, he might be able to help. It should go away totally after pregnancy, it may take about 6 weeks or so.
Good luck with your pregnancy, your over half way there...have fun.

Well it could be braxton hicks contractions, but not the real thing. If it seems out of the norm and doesn't seem right, go to the emergency room it could be a warning sign. If it doesn't return I would talk to my doctor about it and your doctor could explain it and answer any questions. But always go for your gut feeling and be safe.
Take it easy and enjoy the rest of your pregnancy. If you never check out a book called "A child is born" by Lennart Nilsson, I highly recommend it, a lot of good photos from the womb of every stage and good information.

I've felt that a couple times..but what worries me is I'm only 8 wks. My guess is just your body adjusting, stretching to accomidate the baby...or babies.
