For years doctors told me you do not get diabetes from eating a lot of sweet stuff (sugar) but I no longer believe that. I used to use 3 tsp. of sugar in every cup of hot beverage. I now find that doing that put a lot of stress on the pancreas.

I cut way down on sugar, my diabetes is under control-recently my dr. took me off of diabetic medication and I have lost 22 lbs!
Others who have stopped certain brands of diabetic oral medication have also experienced weight loss. Brochures that come with your prescription will often mention weight gain as side-effects and it is true! Ask your doctor, if you go on medication, if there is one that will not have that side effect. I got up to 188 lbs! My weight continues to decline!

I scarffed down sweets much of my life-please try and wean yourself off of it-the price to your health is not worth it! Diabetes is now in eptidomic porportions in this country and we have to make choices that,in the end, effect us a life-time. marlyne B

I a diabetes for 5 years. Doctors told me that you do get diabetes from eating a lot of sweet stuff (sugar) and I believe that. Because if I am doing that (eating a lot of sweet stuff) I put a lot of stress on the pancreas.

I stop consume drugs from doctors.
But I
stop consume eggs or meat,
be relax every time
consume fish which have scale
eat many tomatoes
eat many cucumbers
eat much green vegetables
drink mininum 1,5 litres water a day
do not consume any sugar
do any sport 4 days a week
stop smoking
stop alcohol
God always bless you. Amen.

One theory is that high consumption of sugars can make the body become insulin-resistant. Goes something like this...
The sugars make the pancreas release insulin.
If insulin is always in the blood stream, some cells become resistant to accepting the sugar.
With a family history of diabetes, your chances are higher that you might develop Type II Diabetes (adult onset). So make sure you mention this concern to your doctor.

Each of us must decide which fruits we can eat and which we cannot. It doesn't matter what the GI fo a fruit is nor how much fiber it contains. I can eat apples and very few other fruits. My friend cannot even have a slice of apple or her glucose goes for the moon. to test the fruits to see which ones you are compatible with: check your glucose level and record it eat the fruit at snack time, alone, no nuts or other stuff with it. 90 minutes to 2 hours after first bite, check your glucose again and record it. If glucose level jumps past 50 points you need to decide if you will eat more of that fruit or delete it from your foods list. The above goes for any food you might want to eat. Nothing is denied any more! You can eat what you want, but do be reasonable about the amounts of everything. Test, record, test, record and test some more. Everytime your meds change, do the testing over again and compare to the previous book you made.
