parallel is always opposite but opposite are not parallel because the direction of their movement might get intersected in a point.

i this math.....?an opposite line could be parallel,for its complete length, to another....think of flat surfaces rectangles,, tri angles...rhomboids...rectangles.....sides opposite [ if there is any ].. are generally parallel too....the side opposite to the angle on a tryangle is different...and cannot be parallel....if you go to cubes or box shapes....any line could be parallel but not all coul;d be opposite to each other,,,,nor adjacent..........i would say if you go to the opposite side of the street.....you may not be parallel in a crescent....your left hand may be on the opposite side of yr body....but is not

opposite means totally different going in defferent direction. while, parallel means going along with it.
