Is there a way to accelerate the proccess of the mutation and are there any examples?

I meant evolve soory! How much time did it take for example for the human body to understand that it doesn't need that much hair for the cold and starting to shrink the hair-covered areas of the body. Normally changed genesand dna not by any chemicals or nuclear sources

Mutation happens when an error is made in repairing or copying DNA.

Mutation rates can be increased by exposure to some chemicals or radiation, but these mutations won't affect a whole multicellular organism as the mutation can only directly change one cell. Exposing anything to a mutagen is more likely to cause cancer or cell death than to change the entire heredity of an organism.

Only gamete mutations have any lasting effects outside of cell death and or cancer. Gametes are the 'sex cells' that become sperm or eggs.

It might be possible to insert a specific gene sequence in many cells to alter a subtle chemical factor by using retroviruses. But the method seems to carry some risk, as the viruses aren't particular about what genes they overwrite. The 'infection' would also carry the usual risks of high fever and shock, possibly with the added risk of the persons immune system attacking the altered cells and proteins.

Most mutation are caused by exposure to cosmic rays. This radiation damages the DNA structure and when it divides new forms of the DNA develop. As the life form grows most of the truly fatal DNA combinations are lost. Those that survive become mutations. Some mutations will be fatal; other mutations will make minor changes. Over thousands of years a collection of mutations can form a new feature. Fish developed lungs and became amphibians, some of these had more mutations that allowed them to turn their fins into legs so they were able to walk on land. After a while they lost the gills, improved the lungs and became the land dwelling creatures we know of. This took billions of years.

Most of the time the mutations die out and their genes (which hold the DNA) are not passed on to the next generation. Those mutations that improve the life form make it survive better and more likely to breed. When it breeds it passes on its mutated DNA in its genes, so the trait continues. Eventually the good mutations improve the species while the bad mutations don't survive. This is "the survival of the species," and is the core to Darwin's theory of evolution.

So if you want to accelerate the rate of mutation then increase the radiation exposure. If you increase it too much then you damage the cells and kill the creature. Even after you have increased the radiation to the maximum safe levels most of the mutations will be bad or fatal. Scientists proved this by exposing Fruit Flies to large doses of radiation.

Clearly radiation isn’t the best way to accelerate evolution. So humans started breeding to combine the desired traits. They only breed those with favorable traits. The dog started off as a wolf. It was the first animal tamed by man and has been with us ever since. People created all the breeds by emphasizing various desirable traits. The greyhound was breed to be a fast runner. It has improved lungs, and a thinner head because of this (since the head is thinner it has less brain mass, so the breed may not be as intelligent as other dogs—which explains Santa’s Helper on the Simpsons).

The revolution came with the discovery of DNA. Combinations of DNA molecules form genes. These genes can be switched on or off, even removed and that mutates the creature.

Humanity has not forgotten its evolution. A developing fetus goes through several stages of development. At one point you had gills and didn’t have a backbone. All this developed in the mother’s womb. As the baby grows it passes through an accelerated evolution over 9 months. Of course you weren’t born with gills, but you do have the genes for it and if a scientist is able to switch them on then you can swim like a fish. If they do it right you to can be an amphibian.

Which Genes are we speaking about? Time is irrelevant...it is a constant flow of mutating...there is no beginning or end....it finally stops when your last breath leaves your body.....and the body becomes dust.
