Banning gay marriage is bigotry. It's like the 'Jim Crow' laws of the 1950's in America where a black and a white were not allowed to marry. By banning gay marriage, lawmakers are essentially encouraging gays to not settle down and to continue to date around, which can spread HIV. Gay couples who get married might even want to raise children and would be willing to adopt unwanted children. If gay marriage was legal, it would create a way to make abortion illegal by creating the chance for unwanted children to be adopted.

There is nothing wrong with Gay marriage on it's own but legalizing gay marriage opens the door to so many things. In Massachusetts gay marriage is legal and a school teacher started reading stories to 1st graders that included Men marrying Men. A lot of parents that thought gay marriage was ok all of a sudden got pissed off that their kids were being introduced to homosexuality at that age BUT if you think that gay marriage is ok then it should be equal to normal marriage so having those kids taught gay relations at that early age is legal.

I think it's a side-bar issue, a sideshow at best...Mexico's issue #1 on my list, along with congressional reform, ethanol development, hmm, what else...mass transit initiatives, corruption and fraud in public office, deficit spending, livability in america, environment, trade deficit, stuff like that...I don't care one way or the other, really, on gay marriage....I think if people want to have kids, a quick look at a biology book will tell you innies n outties, sperm/egg fertilization, embryo growth, gestation, all that other science stuff, and that maybe we need more special consideration for couples who decide to become full-fledged families. In the same breath, anything that's percieved to be an advantageous financial situation will soon be exploited by those who just want money, and I think that's the root of the gay marriage issue, if there was no money involved, or percieved to be involved, because the reason for cutting families a break is that they'll be sailing into debt in NO time by the time you get done counting food clothes schoolbooks etc., rent's not getting cheaper for family dwellings nor is the electricity, and if married couples are getting tax breaks then everyone wants in on THAT deal...let's get to the brass-tacks issues like foreign invstors artificially inflating the US housing market, and start passing some legislation that strictly limits the amount of foreign investment in america, just like OTHER countries do....put a foot in some politicians' behinds for trying to sell the country down the river, close down some credit card companies and those payday loan places, online gambling, maybe even pawn shops, clean up american business by having more laws prohibiting and sanctioning against fraudulent practices, that kind of stuff...if you're gay, go be gay, but don't expect anything special for it...I don't think gays should be discriminated against, nor should they have some kind of special status. Too many americans are out there already trying to milk their 'special status', usually for some kind of material gain.
How many MORE half-hearted parasites can the economy sustain? Hmmm...

My honest opinion is that gay marriage should be as valid as straight or "traditional" marriage. It's just a shame that more people don't think that.

My honest opinion is that they should be allowed. John Howards recent quote where he says that a marriage is a union with the intent of producing children made me laugh. By his standards anyone who knew that they could not conceive should not be allowed into a marriage.

I don't believe I should meddle in other people's petty affairs. Marriage being one of them. Either way someone is going to be gay weither they can marry or not. Marriage is just a way of showing how much two people love eachother. Should not be illegal in any way, shape, or form.

I am straight but dont get what all the opposition to gays getting married is all about? Dont you people have anything better to worry about than two consenting adults, who love each other, and want to get married, but happen to be of the same sex? Who cares. Any besides there is no reason that they shouldnt have the right to be as miserable as us heteros!

i think it's pretty simple. the only argument against gay marriage is that the bible is against it. well our constitution says that there must be a separation of church and state, therefore gay marriage should be legal.

It's wrong to call it that- "Marriage" is a sacred union created by God Himself-- and He wrote the rules to the marriage game- we should allow that to remain as God intended......Not that people shouldn't do their thing- by all means, but if your gonna make up your own rules to the game, then call the game something else! (" Un holy munch-ramony",...I don't know! "rump union"- whatd'ya think?) all jokes in good humor-w/all due respect.. to ALL parties involved...and for respect to the Lord.
