When we see the 2 teams ball possession statistics during a game, who controls those stats? are they done automatically (if so, how) or does someone sit there for the whole 90 minutes or more clicking between 2 switches?

They have two guys with chronometers controlling the time each team has the ball, then they give them $20 to buy a beer and a sandwich.

The team represented by the player keeps the record, I think, for performance assessment on each player.

it's a computer program which does that. HE records the time that the teams have the ball and then they transform it in procentage

I have read that for example IBM is in charge of those statistics. It is serious matter in charge of a company
