if she is having a normal pregnancy with no problems..yes

Sex and sexual intercourse are not harmful during pregnancy. The fetus lies safely in the womb and occasional movement, contact or orgasms cannot cause it harm. During orgasm, the womb will contract more than usual, but these aren't the same contractions as those just before delivery. Providing there are no reasons to suspect that the man has a genital infection such as herpes or chlamydia then there is no increased risk of infection to the baby.

The Claim: Sex During Pregnancy Can Induce Labor
By ANAHAD O'CONNOR
THE FACTS Expectant mothers awaiting the end of their pregnancy are often told that sex can induce labor. Compare that method with running around the block a few times or drinking castor oil — two other folk beliefs — and it's no surprise that surveys of pregnant women have found sex to be the most popular option.

Whether the method works is another story. According to a study released this month, the first to examine the belief, having sexual intercourse in the late stages of pregnancy does not hasten labor and delivery, and in fact it may do the opposite.

The study, in the journal Obstetrics and Gynecology, followed 93 women in their third trimesters, all of whom answered questions about their sexual activity and underwent cervical examinations at regular doctor's visits. Those who reported having sex in their final weeks of pregnancy — about half — delivered on average at 39.9 weeks, compared with 39.3 weeks among those who had abstained.

The study also revealed something else. Part of the scientific explanation for the belief is that human sperm contains the hormone prostaglandin, believed to stimulate the cervix and help start contractions. But prelabor exams showed no signs of this effect in any of the women who were sexually active, said Dr. Jonathan Schaffir, an assistant professor of obstetrics and gynecology at Ohio State University and the author of the study.

THE BOTTOM LINE Sex during the late stages of pregnancy does not hasten delivery.

YES.Women who are considered at low-risk for complications during pregnancy are generally given the green light for sex throughout their pregnancy, sometimes right up until the start of labor. Whether the desire for sex is present is a whole different matter. Well-known symptoms like fatigue, nausea, vomiting, breast soreness, and a need to urinate frequently can easily squelch any woman’s libido. The good news is that many of these symptoms diminish by the second trimester, and in fact many women experience an increased desire during this middle period of pregnancy when there is an increased blood flow to sexual organs. The third and last trimester offers its own set of sexual challenges: an expanding belly can make finding a comfortable position difficult and sex often takes a backseat to preparing for the baby’s arrival.

Therefore, it’s perfectly normal for there to be fluctuations of desire throughout the forty weeks of pregnancy and each woman experiences pregnancy differently. Communicating regularly and openly with your physician and significant other during your pregnancy is the key to handling the many changes you and your body will experience.

Sex can continue to be performed up until it is no longer comfortable for your wife. In the later months, positioning could be limited, & never be forceful or too rough. Learn what is-isn't painful & comfortable to do-not do.
