Unless a woman is a sucker for massive amounts of physical or emotional stress, which isn't really a sure way to alter her cycle anyway, she will have to resort to an artificial hormone schedule in order to change when her period arrives. How does one do this? Birth control pills.
Of course, like most things that initially sound simple, there are a few catches. For one, if a woman wants to change when her period arrives by using birth control pills, she'll have to plan really far in advance. If starting the pack of pills off cycle, the first month will tend to cause some spotting and break-through bleeding throughout the cycle, which really defeats the purpose of delaying the period. Instead, she will have to start on them a few months before she needs the effect for those side effects to disappear.

I've never had a period that was normal, I would go without mine for months at a time. I was glad that I didn't have it but I was also scared! In your case, you should be thankful that yours is on track! I really don't see where you will have a problem with it when it comes next month. You don't bleed in water so you should be fine on the Diving Course, Overseas!
Good Luck!!!

The depro vera shot is know to stop the priods in many women. It is a hormonal birth control method. If that is alittle extreme, you can always use tampons or this product called Instead. It is a cup-like devise that that fits over the cervix(very much like a diaphram)and pretty-much collects everything. It can be worn for up to 12hours.They work pretty well.

I've heard of some medication that doctors prescribed to stop menstrual period for certain period of time. i could be wrong. its best you call a doctor, or use a tampon...but make sure you replace it every two hours or less or can cause infections.

I tried to change my cycle time before my wedding, by taking medicine the doctor prescribed, and it backfired. Made it heavier than ever, and longer. What a nightmare. I would just not sweat it and use a tampon.

Delaying your period or forcing it, is unhealthy and unwise. Think you're better off using a tampon.

Hang around other females who menstrate a week earlier than you do. Another method is using the pill; but in your case there isn't enough time.
