conjuring up a child's soul?
what would you have done had the child only been destined for a very short life?
and why were you attempting to do so where the preacher could catch you in the act?sounds a bit like you wanted to get caught.
bad Wicca!
everlasting life would be my choice,as there are still so many like you to teach.

Always living would bring alot of challenges in your eternity of life, because life is a learning stage and that involves alot of struggles and decisions. I dont know what death is like, but what my believe of it makes me see it as a peaceful place only by the decisions you make in life. The way life and death is constructed now is perfect in my eyes but to get to your question, I would say your question does not give the opportunity to answer appropriately. So the preacher asked the wrong question. P.S. I have no religion but understand all of them. I rely on self knowledge and that is the key to true understanding.

I think life is a journey and the destination is heaven(moksha). So I would choose to die and go to heaven.

I would rather die forever because if heaven is full of a bunch of hypocritical holy rollers then I wouldn't enjoy it very much.
