I just install an ordinary harddisk. I save it with vertical position (not horizontal). Is that safe? (will not makes harddisk damaged).

I just get a good answer from Samsung:
"As long as it is securely attached to the chassis, hard disk drives may be mounted either horizontally or vertically depending on how your computer's case is constructed."

Also from RojakPot.com:
Myth #19 :
The hard disk can only be installed in the horizontal position.
Truth : Hard disks can be installed in any position - horizontal, vertical, even upside down!

Modern HDD's can be mounted in almost any position that you would like. I saw an older Dell that had a HDD mounted in the case in the vertical position to save room. The power supply was also mounted in the vertical position. It had a lockable case, you could use a small padlock to secure the case from being opened. So, if it is okay for Dell to manufacture thousands of these computers with the drives in the vertical position, than it must be safe.

It really doesn't matter nowadays. Systems allow for drives to be mounted in a variety of positions. Read the manual - I think you'll find there is no warning or notes on the warranty with regards to positioning the drive in thecase.

I wouldn't recommend it, they're meant to be horizontal. It may suffer in time.
