I just don't understand it. There's nothing relatable between living in the ghetto and living in a gated community. The lifestyles are completely different...I just don't understand it at all.

I don't understand how anybody could think this rap lifestyle is cool...I mean look at the horrid fashion, listen to the way these guys talk...who would want to sound that uneducated? Who would want to dress like that? It sickens me.

These kids watch TV too much. Media does portray certain things to be cool and teens are easily influenced especially when they have nothing to worry about ( other than being cool).

I personally see no musical value in Rap, but Rock and Roll had early black roots also and evolved in how we know it today. Parents hated it.
I think initially kids liked the shock value of the language being used. It was anti-establishment, just like the 60's. Parents hated it which made them like it more. Eminem has often been voted the favorite Rap group, and they're white. I can't say I like the hoarse screaming of some alternative rock either, but it exists.
What I really don't like is that too much Rap is simply bragging about ones self. The need to feel like their somebody. It's not about entertaining the listeners. It's a self centered form of expression.

Maybe they want to be black or something,typical crazy Caucasian behavior.They used to hate them blacks but now all of a sudden they already have high regards toward them or maybe because of rap music,peoples views,likes and choices have changed.

ive always wondered the same thing. maybe its cos all the white kids are basically at heart lame and uncool and they wanna come across as being "hard" because some people have naturally small penises or brains.

Young people love the rebellion, and punk is almost dead so they turn to hip hop.

i'm white. and i live in the suburbs. and i hate rap. i don't understand how ANYone likes it, black or white.
