It is to light the way for the incoming immigrants to a new land. It was designed and built by the French.

The statue has nothing to do with immigrants. It is lady liberty holding a torch lighting the way for freedom & carrying the documents of our cause (meaning the law that gurantees freedom).

Its the light of freedom. The Statue of Liberty was given to us by the French after we won our freedom. It does not mean that we are going to torch someone, nor is it some kind of conspiracy. Get real!!

The torch is Liberty lighting the way. In the other hand, she is carrying tablets representing the Declaration of Independence. Its official title is "Liberty Enlightening the World".

That's why i hate conspiracy theories, they're so rediculous and absurd, they're only for entertainment in my opinion.
if you wanted the statue to fit that description we can always have the Statue of Liberty holding a flamethrower and a sign saying "Your Next" lol
The torch is to light the way for immigrants.

It is a symbolic beacon, like a lighthouse, so the "huddled masses" coming to America know where to go to start a new life.

I do believe she was built before electricity was common, so obviously she would not be holding a flashlight.

I think you are very smart to point out how symbols change meaning (from good to evil)...when your actions change. I think that is how America will be remembered in future!

They have been creating trouble all over the world for one reason or another but this time i think they went seriously overboard!
