My husband has this pair of Dr. Martens that are killing his feet every time he wears them. They are tearing up the back of his ankles and he's had them for a while. Thanks!

You can take it to the shoe doctor. They can stretch it for you with their machine. I live in a military town and there are plenty shoe places that has to do that for soldiers with their boots and etc. good luck!!!

Try softening up the leather with saddle soap. It sounds like they just might not fit well styling wise with his feet though or perhaps they weren't sized right because normally shoes shouldn't bother the ankles like that if they fit right. Try the saddle soap and see if it helps though. Good luck.

Sometimes, all you need to do is to wear them shoes until they break in. While getting through this period, i always wear some moisturiser or body cream on areas of the foot where it rubs. Helps reduce friction.

take them to the shoes smith, they put a wooden thing inside the shoes for awhile to make it wider.

my hubby also had the same prob with those, and ended up chucking them in the bin, we tried everything but they wouldnt give that extra cm.

have him get a pair of shoes that fit!

bend them with your hand. trust me, all my heels have that done to them after i buy them.
