deported from the states 7 years ago any way back in?

I was deported from the states for over staying my holiday visa, I left and only found out I was in trouble when I got to the airport how long will they keep the records for as I have friends and family I want to visit, or is thier a sure fire back way in?

Once you are deported you are not allowed back in for any reason.
