For almost everything all the after photos are infront of a white backround? IS this for phtoshop?

White gives the illusion of "wider" or "larger."

Notice "they" say black is slimming?

So when they put a "after photo subject" in front of a white background, the white gives the impression of a slimmer person, as opposed to if the person was put in a black background.

It seems insignificant because it is just a background, but this is a well-known fact among fashion designers, that white is widening and black is slimming.

Good observation, by the way!

Hope this helps. =]

The before photos are taken not for the purpose of the commercial. They were photos that the person had before the diet or whatever. When they went on the diet and were successful and found out they would be used on a commercial, they were asked to bring a before photo that they had. The after photo was taken by the company making the product and the photo was professionally taken in a studio. They can't go back and take a before shot in the studio.
