First, find a need to fulfil. Perhaps you could get in on the organic foods market, they're getting pretty big now and definitely more popular. Do some research on the companies that you are planning to mimic, ie other grain/coffe suppliers. See which ones are doing good and learn from some of their business strategies. If there are ones that aren't doing so good, find out why and maybe you could find a window into the market there. Whatever business you go into, you can go local or you can go with chains. Try to avoid supplying wal-marts, as that is a huge undertaking. Good luck, you can try local grocery chains, natural foods stores, etc.

You can start a business in anything. You need to have plan and do some research. There is nothing that categorizes as a business for starters unless it is something like newspaper delivery.

If you are going to be a supplier then you should target stores that sell those kind of items. Be prepared to hear the word "no" a milion times.

While it is good to learn from experience, it may be too costly. How do you come up with the idea of supplying coffee beans, corn, and rice? Do you have any connection with people in this field? In business world, the biggest mistake is not doing your homework. Maybe you can let me know more on your background so that I can give a more appropriate advice.

Maybe you could start by working for someone and learning from them.
Start a course to learn how to buy and sell and be a business person first.
Businesses don't just happen because you think it up...there is a lot of work involved in setting up any business.
May I suggest you do a Business course for a start .....and get some background and some learning...and then look to starting a business...
