I don't think so... There are much better teams (Brazil, Argentina, germany). England beat 2 weak teams (Trinidad and Paraguay) without showing a very good game. They drew withn Sweden. Not fantastic!

But you never know with football. I think Germany will win!

That would be wonderful for the English supporters who have waited a long time to see that happen. Their form so far though hasn't indicated this will be the year either. With that said the WC produces the most unpredictable results in football, so anything can happen. I hope their performances if they do not win the cup, give their fans something to be proud of. I think sadly for them, they will not achieve the rank of champion this time round.

Despite a world of critics and doubters I believe in this ENGLAND team to win World Cup 2006. Not misplaced belief but based on the inherent qualities of some of the best players in the world - this is the stage ENGLAND will triumph again.

no. the reason is given below::
England won 1-0 to Paraguay, no English scored a goal, the goal came from Gammara's header which went into his own goal giving England the lead.

My heart (AS ALWAYS) says yes... but my brain (with the form we are; showing at the moment), says NO.
If we start playing, like we did 2 mths ago (when we beat a 'full strength' Argentina side... away from home)... there is NO team... we will NOT beat!!!

Not this time around they will be knocked out in the quarter finals by either Holland or Portugal.

not likely. They are not as strong as Germany or Brazil. They'll probably end up with thrid or fourth place.

no, but there's a way - before they'll have to beat Argentina at the final, they'll have to beat Ecuador today
