I'm new to manga and I want to read a good first one. It should have a pretty decent selection of volumes. It should contain action but not all action. I like normal everyday plots. What is a popular manga right now? Thanks for the help

You should try Naruto it's awesome and very popular they even
have the television show in America right now it's pretty much
just what you're saying action but not to much hope you enjoy
whatever your going to read.

Kare Kano is good if you like normal stuff, but not alot of action. Case Closed is good too, and I would also suggest Kodacha. Each of these has a decent number of volumes.

Hot Gimmick. IT's an underappreciated piece of greatness. Doesn't have much action but, balanced with Rurouni Kenshin- the two'll knock your sox off.

i think d.n.angel, where a fourteen year old kid finds out that his family has a legacy of becoming phantom thiefs, aka dark mousy, and they cant stop becoming him until their true love loves both of them back. I could give you a few spoilers that would still make you want to read more. However, i think that it has like 12 volumes, but its really worth it.

Fruits Basket by Natsuki Takaya. it has about twenty volumes, but they haven't all been translated yet. fourteen are available in english it is an amazing series, but i won't ruin it for you... tohru honda is an orphan who is taken in by the sohma family... it's all about her meeting the family, discovering their secrets, and finding out their curse...

I agree with "Chobits" also "DEARS" is good as well.
Naruto is cool too, but more affordale to just download it (200+ out and counting)
