Say you meet someone totally wonderful they are thoughtful,kind,great personality, and goodlooking but they have horrible breath. Do you keep seeing him/her and try and forget about the breath, dump him/her, or risk hurting their feelings and buy him/her some mints.

It happened to me. I used to intentionally brush my teeth in front of him/her and claim that I would be a little late as I got an appointment with my dentist. They finally got it and things got a lot better. That was really foul.!

Bad breath can mean sickness. Needs to see a dentist.

I say show by example, keep popping mints/ gum and see if they follow.
