I've never had any problem with Paypal so to say. Here's the thing. If for any reason a person that you are payin doesn't deliver, you will literally go through hell trying to get you money back. I advise you to use you credit/debit card for anything you pay. So if Paypal pulls a shanaigan you can just do a charge back. If you use you bank routing number, you will have to wait until the bank finishes its investigation to get your money back.

See paypal doesn't offer any return policy on virtual goods. I paid a guy a pretty penny to put a website together for me. When he completed he told me I had 5 days to make any changes or get any free assistance. After I paid him, he went MIA. When I finally did get ahold of hm 4 days later, he refused to help. Paypal wouldn't give me the money back.

The only way paypal will give you money back is if the person is suppose to ship you something. Other than that your out of luck.

There are a bunch of sites which claim otherwise, but I believe that is purely due to their popularity. My experience with them has been very positive, and I expect they wouldn't have become this far-reaching had they not been reliable.

There are also a bunch of sites which suggest that google is evil. These sites, again, basically exist becuase they can get hits (and therefore ad money) purely for having controversial content. Sure, paypal has probably screwed up a couple times in it's hundred's of millions of transactions. But those screwups were likely not solely its fault, and were likely VERY isolated incidences.

btw- I once spent about a day researching this topic when trying to decide whether or not to use it in a comercial site. I've read most of these sites, and most of them are pretty silly.

I have had both good and bad experiances. I paid for an item on Ebay by using Paypal and the hag never sent my shirt. I put a complaint in Paypal-they investigated and reported to me a short time later that they did in fact find her at fault but couldnt at that time get my money back! They would contact me if they could- 25 bucks! I have had good experiances selling things-people use paypal to pay-I get an email stating that they paid. I can chose to keep it in a Paypal account to use for paying seller fees or buying things on Ebay, I can put it in my checking account(this takes up to 3 days to hit your account), or you can ask for cash but they take a portion of it to do so. I would say 89 percent of the time you are ok.

Yep. PayPal is a professional company, and almost every credit-card paying service uses PayPal. No other service is trusted by millions around the world! However, if you're buying from a person using PayPal, that person could rip you off.

yes paypal has been a very good service. They actually do instant transfers which means, lets say that if you bought an item off ebay even if you dont have money in your paypal account, they can just directly withdraw it out of your bank if you permit them to.

I use it for all my ebay junk. It works pretty well. I think it's probably the safest way to do transactions on the net. Be forwarned though that some spam services will send out stuff saying your paypal account has experienced unusual activity, please enter your password to confirm. All kinds of bad stuff can result in responding to this email.

I've been using paypal for several years and have never had any problems with it at all. The money was always delivered nearly instantaneously both ways.
