Don't give in. Stick to your principles. Lots of people don't drink and for God's sake don't start smoking, it's terrible for you and it stinks!! Tell them you want to stay sober to watch them act like idiots. Or tell them you are the designated driver. People should respect your decisions.

Hahahaha! Give in?! Then you are defeated. Well, more specifically you will end up screwing up your life. Personally, I don't drink, don't smoke, drugs are not even imaginable. What I do is that I tell people that I don't do these things not because of my religion, culture, or whatever, but because of my personal choice. These people of yours that you know that do such things should not put peer pressure on you and you should not feel any pressure at all. It is your life and that is your decision that you made. If they can't handle this, then maybe it is time to try and find some people that are more like you and/or respect your decision.

The trick is to do what YOU want to do, but WITHOUT giving people the idea that you think that you're somehow "better than" them because you're not doing what they're doing.

It's not always easy, because some people incorrectly INFER that they're being implicity criticized by folks who choose to not "join in," and they get all defensive and nasty about it.

I'd say that it's better to be true to yourself than to try to win shallow "popularity contests." What's so great about being "like everyone else"? Everyone has a right to be their own person.

It never hurts to let loose once in a while, however, you shouldn't do it for the sake of others. If you don't want to then I guess you shouldn't and you should let them know that you never intend to smoke or drink so they should stop trying to get you to do so.

NO!
don't do anything you don't want to or feel comfortable with.

i don't always want to drink so i order juice and pop mixed, it looks like a mixed drink. because i too, hate hearing "why aren't you drinking?"

Don't ever give into peer pressure.
You'll regret it later.
