When checking in he needs only to show his U.S. driver's license as proof of identification to board a national flight. But just to be sure, call an airline at your local airport and ask them. It can't hurt to ask and you'll get correct information. Good luck.

I know an illegal immigrant cannot fly within the United States. There was this boy that rode the train for 2000 miles just so he could join his teammates for a competition in Florida. He was an illegal and couldn't fly. It was some kind of academic event.

A valid passport is only need for international flights. Since this is a domestic flight, all he needs is a boarding pass and valid ID (his license if fine). They will not ask for anythind else besides that. But now that i think about it, dont you need a social security number/card in order to get a "valid" driver's license? If he has a license, i dont think he's illegal.

As long as he has a Driver's license he SHOULD be ok... The only thing they check on domestic flights is the boarding pass and the driver's license. So long as he has those he should be fine.

Sure. Tell your friend he should ask for ICE when he gets to the airport. ICE will help him with everything and make sure that all his needs are met. Just tell him he wants to see the ICE person right away and that its a matter of extreme importance.
