Well...I am a Virgo, and i am anything but 'blah'~ I know that we have a great sense of humour....catch on quick...do NOT fit the stereotype that is read...but then again, I can be quick to differentiate....which is called being critical..for who is a virgin to criticize? (Virgo being the Virgin)~ tho I see Virgo as one who gleans...a harvester of information....a confidante....a poet.....a lover, a sister, a daughter or son.....one who is ALWAYS seeking. Now there is a different take on it on the whole.....no we are not prudish...we are empathic and kind. Kind to a point that we might be considered doormats which is SO far from the truth, hence our mercurial retaliation.
We are the first in a crisis....and calm in a storm of chaos.
THIS is how I see us...and the bad press goes on....when I say that I am a Virgo...it is almost, and it is here that I have to laugh....
saying.."Hi! I have this rash...want to touch it?"....oh i am laughing! I think...in no final analysis, that it is a great sun sign to have to fall back on when the rest of our charts are transiting, cusping,....and living.......we are the dreamers that no one suspects is ...in a kitten's breath...making others dreams come true...if it is within our power to do so.....without them even knowing.....BTW I am August 28th...and THAT is definitely a Virgo!

You are right, Virgos are associated as being virginal, and it is a trait mentioned within our astrological profile.

Regarding Astrology, I did see a story on TV once that was interesting. A professor asked every student for their astrology sign, and based on what they said they were he gave them their own description of 'specific' character traits just for their sign. He asked them to write about whether or not the description fit them, and when finished to turn their paper in. Most students agreed that the 'specific' traits absolutely did fit their personalities.
When they were all finished the professor informed them that he had actually given them all the exact same traits, therefore demonstrating how easy it was to fool them into believing their 'Astrology profile' was real.

Anyway, I still believe that there seems to be character traits associated with our birth dates. I have two male friends who are Scorpios and I swear they behave just alike. I also have two Pisces friends and their personalities are remarkably similar.

As far as Virgos, I read a study that stated more Virgo's are hired to do detail work, especially in a business administration setting. We were reported as being more reliable, and more determined to finish jobs done well and on time. We have been defined as being too critical of others and too much of a perfectionist, which I can see in myself from time to time.

Honestly, I do feel I have a lot of the Virgo traits, but as you say, I also believe I can roll with the best of them...
I have not experienced predjudice, sorry if you have.

Only ignorant people think that.

And if you know astrology, you'll know that "Virgo" has nothing to do with "Virgin," other than as a name. I don't remember everything that "they" say that Virgos are about, but I seem to remember being well-organized as one common trait. There's nothing about being a priss or a prude on the astrological profile for this sun sign (not that I believe in astrology anyway).

For example, I'm a Pisces, and we're not reputed to be fishes, after all! Nor are Capricorns, goats, etc. So why should Virgos be virgins? It makes no sense. (--Assuming that astrology makes sense in the first place, and I've never believed that it does.)

BTW, it's spelled "prejudice." Just for future reference--I'm not trying to be snarky. But correcting someone's spelling? That'd be a common "Virgo" trait, since astrologers say that Virgos are sticklers for details.

I am a virgo, and known for detail. My first thought was to correct your spelling. I would not base my character on what others think of me or even that much on what the sign says. I find that I have traits from almost every sign. I tend to fit the virgo side the most. But I am who I am. The word would be prejudice for the record.

Virgos are the only female sign on the zodiac and therefore have many feminine qualities that people don't appreciate. I beleive that other signs are more focused on the destination not the journey and Virgo is so analytical and detail oriented that they will not do something they feel forced to and this turns off alot of other signs that seem to survive by being introverted manipulaters. Virgo isn't into mind games. Hate it or love it Virgo isn't going against their own grain. And that pisses people off.

That is unbelievably false if I say so myself... Although our signs do have symbols like, the virgin, ram, sea goat (Not goat), and scales, they are meant to be taken metaphorically. For instance, Capricorn's are related to the sea goat astrologically, which are thought to deem things such as sex in unecessary amounts frivilous. On the other hand, my sex signs are in Capricorn, Scorpio, and Leo, so the standard sexual tendencies of a Capricorn get lost in the others that are stronger.

Yes, some people say that Astrology is for entertainment purposes, but that's only if you don't understand what you're reading or what you're reading is completely/partly false/oppinionated. When you read what's true/accurate, you'll get the truth, so I suggest that ALOT of people find accurate sites before calling this an entertainment thing....Some probably/only because Yahoo lead in example.

because most of the time we do!! It is up to each Virgo out there who believes to step out side our VERY safe box. I do it every day at work and a little every day in my personal life.

If it was not for us Virgos the rest of the signs would be in constant chaos.

i am a virgo and all my mates don't need to study the stars to know they are wrong and they definitely would't call me blah! The horoscopes might say we are all inocent but the people who believe that are either ignorant or just stupid. Virgos can party as hard as any other star sign!

I am a Virgo and have never been called "safe"....hehe
Read the stuff I read about us!

Virgo

As the Sign of Service, one of Virgo's favorite roles is to be of help to friends and lovers. The industrious, efficient and well-organized Virgo will rarely have trouble pulling this off, and a banquet at their hands will mean an evening of delectable treats. Ruling Planet Mercury symbolizes Communication; Virgos are possessed of an ability to reason clearly, resolve issues and take a romance to new heights. Virgo can, at times, be shy and a bit repressed, so someone who can bring them out of these depths will be rewarded with a vibrant lover. Concerned with health as they are, a doctor-nurse fantasy is the max for this Sign!
Virgo and Romance

The well-toned Virgo often has a body which is the envy of many, thanks to a healthy regimen of diet and exercise. It's safe to say that a heady game of tennis followed by a leafy salad would be aphrodisiac enough for those born under this sign. Many encounters with Virgo will be a well-choreographed ballet of excellent taste, seeing as how neat surroundings and stylish accoutrements are considered important to these folk. The level-headed Virgo is also a conciliator where romance is concerned, perhaps because being in love for them means falling hard. All that effort cannot be wasted. As a result, this perfectionist aims to please, and Virgo's lover will be one happy camper. Wise partners, though, will know that the Virgin also needs a place to call home.
Virgo in Love
A natural state for Virgo in love is to analyze the situation while exploring it deeply. This will show off the Virgin as steady, solid and far from a flirt. Virgos are much more the true romantic; they love giving as well as receiving, passion and uninhibited joy. Virgos really know how to make their partner feel special, so some heat between the sheets is likely to occur! It's one lover at a time for the loyal Virgo, who reveres a relationship blessed with total honesty lest jealousy and feelings of inadequacy come to the fore. Love comes to Virgo slowly, carefully and sweetly, and the desire to learn all about their lover makes those born under this sign ideal lovers themselves. A Virgo in love is a sight to behold, a relaxed and confident soul.

Virgo and Sex

So often, the sizzle in sex is in the details, and Virgo is a master of minutiae. The lover as perfectionist is Virgo personified: someone who will see to it that the little things are never overlooked. Virgos finish what they start in the bedroom, and this cozy chamber is likely to be a dreamy den decorated with discriminating taste. The servant in Virgo is only more than happy to be everything their lover desires; if that lover can bring out Virgo's sensual self, the reward will be a most liberated lover. A cool exterior tends to mask Virgo's wild side, often a fantasy world filled with erotica safely under wraps. The lover who can reach these sexual treats through artful seduction is lucky in love indeed.
What Virgo Needs

The striving achiever that is Virgo lusts for someone who can play in their league. Sports are often the perfect release for partners, since the Virgin adores the one who shares their love for good health and excellence. Those born under this sign want and need a strong and free lover who will draw them out and acquaint them with sexual pleasure. A partner who is secure, can take the initiative and can easily communicate sexual and romantic feelings will win Virgo's heart. If Virgo can mate with someone who'd have sex at the beach as easily as in the bedroom, it could be a match made in heaven!

With Virgo, it's all in the details and doing things right. The caring and romantic Virgin knows that the small things in life and love do matter. Couple that with an eagerness to serve, and Virgo's lucky lover is in for a wonderful ride!
