It's a term used for a woman who turns into a beast once the date for a wedding is set, much to the dismay of her future husband. :)

It is a term used for a bride who gets so obsessive about every single detail of her wedding that she makes life miserable to impossible for everyone around her, from her own maid or matron of honor to the entire bridal party to the caterers, photographers, planners, ushers, clergy, etc. Her determination to pull off the "perfect" wedding invariably results in an event that is a nightmare for everyone. There are few people that have a chance of curing a bridezilla. The groom usually doesn't even know it's happening, so he can't do much. The people who have the best shot are:
1. A skillful and experienced wedding planner
2. A strong and fearless minister
3. A mother of the bride who has the guts to smack a little sense into her daughter (the father of the bride, like the groom, usually doesn't even know what's going on).

The bride of Godzilla or its human equivalent.
A Bridezilla is a domineering over-worried, woman, frantic to have her wedding go off just like she has been planning it (probably for years). And, if you deny her then she will be a MONSTER about it!
Godzilla was a popular monster in Japanese Horror films. He made it big in the states and stared in several films, most were filmed in the 70's and early 80's. To the Japanese Godzilla was the personification of the nuclear horror. Later he became a hero to the Japanese people and fought the bad monsters. You can still catch his films on the Sci-Fi channel. The American version that stared Mathew Broderick was a total flop and pretty much killed any chance for his big comeback in Japan or the states.
