I reciently read both of the books Angels & Demons and The DaVinci Code books By Dan Brown and watched the movie. I was wondering the opinion of people surrounding the religous take on this and the political shift it has taken as well. Do you think it will change the views of Christianity and other religions on the Holy Graile,Christ, Mary Magdline, Opous Day, and other religous groups?

I think it is a great book that gives people a chance to wonder about the things that they believe in.. people should qestion those things to make sure that they believe in them. I don't care too much about the whole opus Dei Holy grail and stuff... but I have done further research, not davinci code related books, about the fact taht Jesus was married and such, and I found out that e only things written about Jesus's and Mary Magdalene relationship are in the Gospel Of Phillip which is part of the Dead Sea Scrolls in which it tells of Jesus kissing Mary Magdalene on the mouth and the other disciples being jealous of him doing that and wondering if Jesus loved them as much as he loved Mary Magdalene.. also, i have heard a lot about Mary Magdalene carring Jesus's kid and living in frace and stuff being simply common sence in older europe and such, and therefore are not documented. And I tink that if shouldn't change the views of those religions but it should make people wonder about Jesus the person, not the fictional character portrayed in the bible, I tell people that they should get a grasp of the time that Jesus lived on and read Flavio Josephus and such historians to know what atmosphere Jesus was around. By the way... there is not stroger and better christian than the one that was an atheist once, but that is just my opinion

The problem with the books is that he has taken actual places and facts about things from history but put a fictional spin on them so you can't separate what's real from what has been altered to fit his story. For instance, in Angels and Demons, he stated that there were the three rules for selecting a pope; I forget what they all were now, but that isn't true. There is no age requirement; that was one of them. They don't have to choose from the cardinals, either, which I think was another. Cardinals wear RED robes (hence the name) but he called them black in several places. They could wear black if they so chose, but attaining the rank of cardinal is a big deal - it is the highest ranking below pope - and since only cardinals can wear the red, why would they go back to the black? Especially in Rome? And without giving away the ending to the book, I will just say that the resolution was a bit of a stretch and not very good. The books are not historically accurate, and most people just don't know enough about the facts to separate them from the fiction.

i think that the relious groups protesting against it should just STOP!. If they don't want to see it..ddon't see it. Just pretend it never happened. I don't like how so much controversey is surrounding this movie. Just let the people enjoy their movie.
They should not have cut things out of the book..but it probably impossible to fit it all.
I doubt the religious groups will change now, because they are so firm and solid on what they believe in, but eventually something will change.
my two cents.

I think it is like everything else from time. We once thought the world was flat that the Earth was the center of the universe, etc. I dont know what the truth is on the subject. I think that people as a whole love controversey. I think that politics need to stay out of religion honestly.

One thing is that the movie wasn't that loyal to the movie. The ending wasn't like the one in the book :(
My views didn't change a bit. As Dan Brown said "it's fiction"
