I'm honored that someone said plumber, but although it is nasty climbing into septic tanks and unclogging diahrriad toilets, it's not that bad. And I'm sure being a parent is rough, but it's not all that terrible.

The hardest job HAS to be either an underpaying coal mining job or crab fishing. (military life is hard, especially for marines, but not as bad as these)

Nothing to add, being a parent if you are doing it properly is the hardest job of all. You have to temper what you would like to have done when you were a child, with what is best for your child.

Well being a parent is a tough one, but one that makes a living I'd have to say being a commercial fisherman in Alaska would be the toughest.
