U really can not prevent stretchmarks. Stretchmarks are caused by the lack of elasticity in the skin. Some women have the gift of having great elasticity while majority of us don't But u can keep the area moisturize with lotion after baths preferably...the coco butter worked well for keeping my stretch marks light. Other then that there isn't much to do..and microabrasion just only lightens the problem marks to ur skin coloring...it doesn't make them disappear just to let u know...talk to a dermatologist about that one :)

Everyone on here is mentioning coco butter... what everyone is failing to mention is that regular old coco butter doesn't cut it. people use coco butter to help get a tan! When you go out shopping for this stuff, make sure it contains Vitamin E (helps keep skin stretchy and will help it go back to it's normal size) ... AND something called "Elastin". This is actually a man-made compound that will bring the elasticity back into your skin. Unfortunately there is no 100% guarantee that you won't get any stretch marks (due to the fact that genetics does enter into the equation, meaning if your mom got them.. you probably will), however if you get creams designed specifically for "Mom's-to-be", your chances are far better. Relax, there is hope. (not to mention there are creams to help with stretch marks once you already have them.. and they DO work but you will pay $40 a bottle for them).

When it itches, dont ever scratch it! Yes, have a cream or lotion always handy so that whenever you feel like tearing your skin apart, the lotion will sort of do the trick for you, minus the stretchmarks of course! Also, Ive heard from my mother in law that wrapping your tummy with a cloth will help when you feel like you need to scratch (unconsciously, we do) while sleeping. It will prevent your nails from getting in contact with your skin, which will prevent the marks too.

You really can't. If your mom has alot of stretch marks you probably will too. It's an unfortunate fact of pregnancy :(

Although, I'm sure using cocoa butter everyday won't hurt. It just probably won't help either
