I grow plants all the time , I hope this helps , if you dont remove the dead plants all the nutrieunts try to go to the dead part of the plant becasue it needs the water or food and the dead part sucks it all trying to live b4 completely dieing so it leaves the live part of the plant to die. Im not 100% sure on this so maybe someone else can give you a better answer , i have just been told this.....

What kind of plants are you talking about? It is always good to remove the dead parts of plants unless they are dead from cold (winter). In that case wait until the weather warms up and then remove the dead parts. Since I don't know what kind of plants you are talking about I won't try to answer your specific question. However, some libraries have a service where they will answer all questions. You only need to call them and if they offer this service they will get the answer and call you back. Good luck.

The dead stems will lead further deterioration along the body of the plant up to a certain point at which it will stop.. If the plants are not connected but are in separate pots, the only way would be via infection or virus..

Because the dead plants are taking energy from the good plants. That's why you should remove dead leaves from good plants too.
