Is it wrong to end a friendship because the person grew so close to you that nearly everything they do ends up hurting you in some way?

And this is from the perspective that you know ending the friendship will be the only way you can truely be happy again. They're not TRYING to do anything to hurt me, I take everything the wrong way. And the only way I'd be able to stop taking things the wrong way is to stop talking to them. I love them to death and they do help me out alot and I don't know which extreme(1. The love for them. or 2. The sadness they cause me) is greater.

well if they aren't trying to do anything to hurt you, and you know that...then try to not take it to personally? you know your friends, you know who they are, so if something is bothering you, you have to make that step to telling them what it is...if they are your true friends and they feel the same way about you that you do towards them, then telling them how you feel should not and will not be a problem....they should listen to what you have to say.

if you feel like this environment and friendship is negative in your life, and you need to move on in order to better yourself there is no better person out there who would know what is the right thing to do other than yourself. i ended a very special friendship not to long ago that changed my life, but i did it for myself and because i knew i was a better person without all the BS that went along with it...and although i wont forget the good moments..i don't regret making new ones without my past dangling behind me...

so....this is the true test of your friendship...talk see what happens, see if anything changes when you say how you feel...and if it's time to move on..then do it...there is no need to make yourself feel down and self conscious and you shouldn't around you friends, esp when the friendship is as close as you say it is

good luck and i hope it works out!
