There are many good places, but, first, what area of specialization are you interested in? Some schools are noted for a particular area.
You almost seem to know nothing about teaching = better find out first! The type and size and location and the type of student population and climate at a school (as in weather) all can be very important. Then ther's cost.
If you know anyone in teaching, or educatioin, perhaps from your high school, even if it's been several years ago. They will likely be happy to tell you what they think and feel. but don't trust just one or 2 opinions. Some of us are too enthusiastic and some far too negative. If you can go visit some schools. If you live in an area with several schools relatively near, you might try a sample course at the ones that could be of interest. If you are like most of us, you either don't know what you want to do, or how to go about it. So, "welcomre to the club." You should be fine. Enjoy and finda way to be paitient.

Depends on where you live and where you want to go?
Around here University of North Texas is the way to go, but would probably not suggest that if you're commuting from Rhode Island.
