ummm.... yeah? It can unless you are already level 99, which I doubt you are if you asked that... Go open secret cow portals. It's always funny. (In case you don't know how; take a tome of town portals and 'wirt's leg' [from wirt's body in the place you rescued Cain] and combine them in your cube while in the Rogue encampment in a mode you already beat. Do NOT kill the cow king or you cannot EVER create the portal in that mode again.)
ETA: I don't know if what mode you are in, but remember to go to the next mode (unless you're in the last mode. In that case, play in whatever mode you feel like). Harder monsters with more immunities, do the quests all over in this mode.
Also, it doesn't matter whether you play online or not. I assume that by playing online you mean B-net, so no cheating to get past level 99.
My last main character got deleted because I didn't log on for over 90 days. It was a level 82 Sorc. that I put a lot of time into.

easy Sorc or a PnB Necro. A seize Sin too if u want yet identity evaluate the 1st too for greater effective result. Hdins are stable too yet its stressful to constantly locate the stuffs for them. The necro is the main inexpensive one.
