I havent started college yet, but I know that i've always loved acting and know that i would want to major in theatre, but also I think I should major in something else. I dont want to do anything in business, but I would want to do a job thats fun. I've heard that double majoring with theatre is hard, but I would like to do it. And I know i could teach theatre, but wouldnt want to. Any suggestions. Thanks

I suggest you double major with education. It is VERY hard to double major if you are in theatre or music because of the work load. You are required to do TWICE as many classes as a physics major, and will be required to study THREE TIMES the # of hours of a physics major. I strongly suggest that you not major in theatre unless you truly are EXCELLENT, because there just aren't any jobs.

Speech or some form of communication - it could be mass comm, interpersonal comm, any number of areas depending upon what the school offers. My BS was in Speech/Theatre and I went on to graduate school for an MS in Communication Theory specializing in Mass Comm. Whatever you decide, good luck.

How about dance? Or music? Do you want to be an actor, director, stage manager, designer, or tech? A clear choice between these may point to a compatible second major.
