I really like cactus plants, but im not sure which kind to buy. i need one that can surive through cold and hot weather (florida). i also tend to forget to water my plants, so i need one that just about maintains itself without much help from me.

I think any will do. Cactus plants don't really need a lot of water. Just remember to water them once a week. During the hot weather, you can leave them alone, just water them, but during the cold weather, keep them in a warm place.

I've often wondered about people and cactus. Agave is good, especially for Tequila. Yeah, Agave. You will have to love it, anyway, anything alive needs care. You need a slap against the head for forgetting to water a plant. Did you know that electrodes have been connected to plants, and they really do have feelings.
I agree with Talamascaa.

Cacti don't need much water so I think almost any will do in that respect. Most take moderately cold temperatures but not freezing. They thrive in direct sunlight and the hotter the better so again, almost any will do. Just don't plant something that won't fit in your house (Saguaro) and I think you'll be OK.

I would suggest you get a fake one if you're that damn lazy.

Oh, and never get a puppy.

Good luck.
