What encoding under the "View" means?How is it used?

There is a length of code behind any given webpage. This is the structure that makes the page look like it is. Although it may look very complicated and endless upon first glance, learning how to read and write such code will make you more familiar with the sites around you. There are different encoding systems that exist for encoding data into the binary format e.g. numbers and characters can be encoded using ASCII or unicode or EDBIC etc. In order to decode it correctly and ensure that you do not view/print garbage character, the system must know what encoding was used in the first place.

Some websites/developers/systems use a different encoding than the standard Unicode. The setting is used to change the encoding if you suspect that you are unable to view/print the page properly due to a different encoding issue.
