Wel-ll, it's really a nerdy site, so be kind to me and give me the 10 points. There's a guy who keeps a database of presidential elections -- he also has MAPS of the current governor's races and Senate races for the 2006 campaigns, with colors for how each party is doing.

It's up to date and very professionally prepared.

What IS NOT NERDY is what this does to you as you keep up with the news. The ploys and posturing of candidates are much easier to spot of you know who is probably going to win and which races are going down to the wire. Major campaign contributions to a close race stick in your mind, too.

So this is my favorite web site because it is EXACTLY what a campaign manager or spin meister DOESN'T WANT ME TO KNOW about them and their puppet.

Overall site:

http://uselectionatlas.org/

Web page within that site for 2006 Senate races:

http://uselectionatlas.org/POLLS/SENATE/2006/polls.php

Web page within that site for 2006 Governor's races:

http://uselectionatlas.org/POLLS/GOVERNOR/2006/polls.php

There's also predictions formed by the subscribers and an excellent forum discussing the congressional races and governor's races.

This site is what SHOULD BE on the TV news in an election year, but it isn't (especially now, in 2006, that "Inside Politics" is no longer on CNN).

Every morning and afternoon, I always stop by 2TheAdvocate.com which contains local news for my area. I get up-to-date information on what is happening. If there is a major wreck I need to know about, this site will post it immediately.
