yes.
jon scherlouz (no idea how to spell that) is the best general manager in the game. he'll probably trade to improve the braves' biggest weakness; their bullpen. the national league is ridiculously untalented this year and all it would take is one hot streak to put the braves in contention.

the braves still have a good core of players to build around, and again, the NL is pathetic this year and a run at the wild card is not unlikely.

ABSOLUTELY!!! A true Braves fan would never give up hope! Just look at their average of runs per game. All they need to find is some relief pitching and their back in business! You dont dominate for over a decade without a few ups and downs along the way. They will bounce back like always and Bobby Cox will be a Greek God once again!

You have to be kidding me, after 14 straight yrs of winning their division, you still question the Braves. They are doing exactly the same thing as last year. They will make a run, just watch. I dislike the Braves, but you have to hand it to give them their props, they know what they are doing. Even if they don't make the playoffs, so what. The Braves fans don't even watch them anymore, didn't they have the lowest attendance during the playoffs last year?

Not this year, not with the Mets playing like they are. Philly is the only team in the NL East even making an effort to beat the Mets. Atlantas bullpen is garbage, and it looks like Bobby Cox is just taking it easy, marking time until retirement.

It really has been shocking to watch Atlanta self destruct this year, and a bit fun, too.

P.S.. I bet they're sorry they traded Glavine now, aren't they? After the Mets win the World Series, I wonder if he'll still want to go back?

It appears their run has come to an end. Smoltz said he was open to a trade and their in last place here about the halfway point of the season.

It looks like wholesale changes are in store for the Braves this offseason.

anybody who thinks a 10 game lead is safe when it's not even the all star break yet is a true moron. just ask the 94 dodgers, they had a 14 game lead at the break and the braves gunned them down!! they will snap out of it soon...all you braves haters....print this page out and come late september you can wipe your teary, snotty faces with it when the braves wrap up their 15th consecutive division title.

Not this year. They are too far out of it and too many of their players are having sub-par years. Their team batting average is poor and evidently, their pitching staff is missing Leo Mazzoni a LOT. Poor pitching will be their ultimate downfall in the 2nd half of the season.

No, they're in a competitive division and already are too far back to catch up. They have the worst bullpen ERA in the National League.

the only true way to make the playoffs is as a wild card. if a trade and a winning streak come they may just be the ones who're able to do it.

Sadly, not much. Without bullpen help, they are just too far behind. It would take a miracle for them to win.
