well just turn on a cd like from your most fav artist. and listen to it. and think of like something that made you feel happy (person, event, etc) or something that made you feel mad or angry (something someone said, a fight with a loved one etc) and just write your heart out! Follow any format (verse chorus you know format) of writing the lyrics formats of like lyrics don't really matter there are soo many different types. Don't worry about it "sounding like" other singers' songs. You can always revise it later! Good Luck!!!

Write about something or someone you know. Write how you feel about it, what you would do about it, what could happen if you did it. Write about a subject that you can relate to. Don't worry about choruses or catchy phrases - that can come later or as you go. Just write whatever comes to your mind and write it down. Then sit down and organize what you've written. Now you can work on verses, bridges, choruses, rhyme, catchy phrases

Write a paragraph about something that means something to you; whatever strikes your fancy. Then, carefully read what you've written. Inside it is a poem. Next: write the poem...and have it fit into a melodic rhythm.
