BOSE makes great gear, there's no arguing that. But, in this case I'd have to recommend Dr. Bose old friend, Klipsch. If you're not familiar with Klipsch Audio Technologies, you have no idea what you've been missing.
Really BOSE is in the lower to mid quality range of the high end audio equipment. They're a huge improvement over the commercial Sony, JVC, Pioneer, etc. . . but there is actually even better available (with exception to the BOSE model 901, for those are the work of Gods). If I remember correctly, Dr. Klipsch was instrumental (no pun intended) in the creation, design, and development of the original BOSE 901s.
Although I have no music ability what so ever to speak of, I do know good music, and more importantly I have a better then most idea of what it takes to maintain sound quality/clarity even at door slamming, children crying, angry neighbors, local noise ordnance violating, pissed off girlfriend, sleeping on the couch dB levels.
With that in mind, I can only recommend the Klipsch ProMedia Ultra 5.1 system. Here's a link if you're interested:

Of course, I feel I should warn you, most people loose interest when they see the sticker price.
But if you're into audio, I promise you, you will not be disappointed.

Altes Lansing is nice. i am using the cube and sub woofer set up., even my neighbors a good distance away, can hear the music i listen to.! and they love it... i hope.
ACS 45.1Try it. Not too expensive, decent sound. whatelse could you want ? If multimedia speakers is your concern this does it. period. don't sweat the small stuff, unless you're a pro or something like an audiophile? which i dont think you are because you are obviously confused..
