This is a small portable gas grill. It had instructions on how to assemble it, but no instructions on how to use it (light it up). I called their # and they said follow the instructions on the butane tank (1 lb tank). I dont want an explosion to occur, but are these things easy to light? I've never used a portalbe 1 lb canister thingy.

Basic instructions for all propane grills:
1) Open lid fully
2) Insert BBQ ignighter* into lighting hole which may be on one end but usually with table top grills is under the grill above the drip pan
3) be sure the ignighter is close to the burner (after doing this a couple times you'll not need to visually check this)
4) turn gas onto high and light ignighter... be sure to keep face back and check to see it ignighted
5) If no start after 15 seconds turn off gas and let fumes clear (manufactures say for 5 minutes but relistically if the lid is open the fumes will be gone in a minute
6) if no start then try again starting at inst. #3

*You can use a match or regular lighter to light with but it is much safer to use a BBQ lighter... If using a match it is sometimes easier to drop the lit match as close to the burner as you can and then turn on the gas...

They probably have a website. Do they have instruction manuals on it?

Go to the retailer where you bought it; look at another's manual (same model). Maybe a clerk can photo copy it for you.

turn the gas on low and get a lighter (long) and just start it like you would a gas stove if the pilot light was out.............
