My turtle is a red eared slider. It hasn't been moving as much. It has been floating and getting air after a long period of time. The water is clean and is shallow. Is this natural? I have another turtle in the water tank but thats a red eared slider too. They have gotten along. SOMEONE PLEASE RESPOND

Your turtle is sick... seperate the two turtles. Get a rubbermaid tub and raise the temps. Keep a baskinglight on the basking area at 95 F and if you have a water heater, keep the water at 80F. The increased temps will help the turtles immune system. It may be too late already.

Many RES and other hatchlings die b/c that is nature. Turtles produce many and less than 1% actually makes it into adulthood to breed.

A vet cannot help it very much at this point. All they would do is give it a vitamin A shot and maybe give some Baytril and say good luck. Chances are, it may not live. Keep up the temps and hope for the best. Sometimes, these little guys are just not meant to make it, even with the best care.

Keep your other little guy warm too.

get a bigger tank, use clean water and also use an air pump.. use only pacaged food for ur turtle.. see if this works or else go to the vet.

Maybe it has gas. Don't feed it pork and beans. Better yet take it to a vet that normally sees reptiles.

If any pet's behavior suddenly changes, take them to the vet.
I think he is sick and should be checked out.
