The War in Iraq had zero (less than zero) connection to 9./11.
Saddam Hussein had no connection with 9/11.

The war was/is about neo-cons with a vision of creating an American empire in the Middle East. The reason they have no exit strategy is they want to stay there forever. How else do you explain permanent military bases and a $600 million embassy in Baghdad?

None of the 9/11 terrorists was Iraqi. 15 were Saudis. If we really want to stop terrorism, we should crack down on Saudi Arabia -- but the royal family has financial ties with the Bushes.

No. What you call "9/11" was a set-up, like Pearl Harbor on 7 December 1941, to have an excuse for starting another World War.

The war started because of greed. The Bush family and their close friends and supporters in the oil and arms industry wanted to take control of most of the world's oil and gas reserves, and at the same time establish a permanent base in the Middle East. That was the only reason for the war.
On a sideline they also took on board the concerns of the (mainly Jewish) people from the neo-con "Project for the New American Century" who want to eliminate all potential enemies of Israel by using US military power.

Sadly for the USA, the whole concept is wrong and based on a lot of miscalculations and misinterpretations. The adventure will turn sour and could destroy the USA as we now know it.

In Afghanistan, yes. In Iraq, not really. 9/11 was used as leverage to lean people towards invasion (links to terrorism). Bush had time before 9/11 to invade, but realized the assumptions of WMD's would not be enough to justify a invasion. 9/11 gave him another point to make, that Iraq was linked to terrorism in the Middle East and around the world. That coupled with the WMD assumption has led to the invasion and to this scenario. The war may have been started due to the vengeance on the part of Bush, America's thirst for oil, or America's general imperialistic nature. In any case, we should finish the fight and stop the bloodshed.

No. Iraq had nothing to do with Al-Qaeda before the war in Iraq stared.

The war in Afghanistan was started because of 11/09, the war in Iraq was a ego trip for the powers that be. They had no justification, hence the falsified intelligence, and the lack of a UN resolution. They were so desperate to go in the didn't plan an exit strategy, and now we killed 1000s of people and the situation hasn't improved.

I think they thought the whole of Iraq would love being bombed and hold parties and build a statue of Bush in Baghdad.

Afg. become all started after 9/11 because the Taliban refused to reveal over Bin weighted down. previous to the Iraq warfare Bush drew the hyperlink from 9/11 to Iraq some cases yet later admitted that this isn't the case. The warfare in Iraq is component to the global warfare on terror besides the undeniable fact that it really is by no skill proper with 9/11.

We went to Afghanistan because of 9/11. But Iraq? No way. Some tried to give it as an excuse, but it had nothing whatsoever to do with 9/11. There have been no proven ties between Sadam Hussein and Al Queda or Bin Laden.

Kinda...I think Georgie bot would have come up with a reason to get over there no matter what. He just used 9/11 as an excuse. Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11.

The War Started long before 911

NO. The war started because Sadam wanted to get OPEC to change the global currency in which oil is priced, from the Dollar to th Euro. As long as Oil is priced in dollars, the US can print it's way out of debt, but if the world monetary standard had switched to Dollars the USA would have been bankrupted within a year or two.

So it was to do with oil, but not the most obvious reason.....

Interesting discussion - Did the war start because of 911 - no 911 happened in order to justify the war.

Perhaps it is more important to question why, jihadists, Nazis communists etc have chosen to take their action and why they are able to inspire so many others to follow their ideology.

In the Autumn of 2004 Adam Curtis produced a three part documentary programme called the Power of Nightmares broadcast on BBC 2 and subsequently produced as a cut down version at the request of the Cannes Film festival producers.

This documentary looked at the roots of the current conflict founded, Curtis proposed, on the thinking of American philosopher Leo Strauss and the rise of Neo Conservatism. The documentary suggests that the rise Jihadists was as a counter to the perceived impact of American liberalism on the lives and culture of the middle east.

Both causes identified American Liberalism as the "boggy man" which was why Clinton was so heavily attacked by the neo conservatists and became the new enemy after the fall of the Berlin Wall. There is lots to read at the BBC news web site on this.

As for 911 - I am stunned at how totally the American public and many in the rest of the world have been hoodwinked by the official story. I am not going to suggest any conspiracy story - it is simply that the facts do not add up. Check out 911research.com which does not try to propose alternative stories but scientifically looks at the facts and leaves you to make your own mind up.

The long missive on the importance of American neo-conservative intervention in world affairs is interesting - but fails to address the underlying reasons behind the rise of the nazi's, communists and jihadists. To me is is all about power - and in most instances that is Men seeking world dominance, seeking to be the alpha male, seeking to impose their ideological beliefs on the world - it is the same reason that inspires Donald Trump to build huge phallic symbols - men who feel sexually inadequate and need massive public symbols of their prowess in order to feel adequate.

While these men insist in playing out their power struggles the fate of the entire human race lies in the balance.
