it's a wonderful worthwhile entertainment both the book and the movie.....a good story, one hell of a read.... but its purely fictional but very intriguing since it scandalized the christian world and rocked the catholic church.

The Da Vinci Code, both the book and the movie, is pretty good fiction.

Almost all the "interesting" ideas brought up have been proven false by real professors and historians.

Unfortunately some anti-Catholic and/or anti-Christian people are now using these incorrect theories to attack the Church and confuse its followers. You just have to do a search of Yahoo Answers to see some of these attacks.

Fortunately God's truth will win out over all.

With love in Christ.

I don't know for sure if we can agree or disagree. As regular citizens, we could be witheld information from the Vatican, if they so choose to. So there could be lost texts from the bible. But, as a believer, I don't think this could happen. If the texts were in existence, and important to our salvation, they would somehow have been released by now.
As for the question the movie raises... I think it was just trying to sell... controversey sells.
Personally, I disagree with the idea.
Also, the user was only asking if we agreed or disagreed with the idea that the davinci code presented. What the user didnt do was say what they believed or that they thought the book was nonfictional. So why is everyone attacking her question?

I agree that is was a FICTIONAL NOVEL.
Written for ENTERTAINMENT purposes.
Like Harry Potter.
IT WAS A STORY BOOK FOR CRYING OUTLOAD.

If you are inquiring about some of the historical implications, I highly recommend that you read a NON-FICTIONAL book, like Holy Blood, Holy Grail...where Brown got a lot of his ideas for his story book.
Holy Blood, Holy Grail has an unbelievable amount of historical facts and research and documentation.

the book is fiction, it makes you think. it is possible but it is not proven so i dont really know why religions are in an uproar about this. it makes me believe that there may be some truth if these religions are getting so upset.

first of all...anyone who HAS a brain, and knows ANYTHING about art history SHOULD know enough to realize that there is NO WAY humanly possible that story could pass as non-fiction.
