my cousin can't feel her baby kicking or moving at all and she is 5 months now I think. If the placenta is on the front of your uterus it pads the kicking and movements from you feeling it from the outside. It could be possible that your baby is just a little on the smaller side still and isn't kicking as hard as some other babies do. I didn't feel any kicking until about 6 months with my son. Your baby could just like to sleep a lot during the day and is active more during the night. My son was just rocking and rolling all the time once he got active. He used to kick my husband in the back in the morning when we were just getting out of bed, that was always a good laugh.

1 month - 1 to four weeks
2 months - 5 to eight weeks
3 months - 9 to thirteen weeks
4 months - 14 to seventeen weeks
5 months - 18 to twenty two weeks
6 months - 23 to twenty seven weeks
7 months - 28 to thirty one weeks
8 months - 32 to thirty five weeks
9 months - 36 to fourty weeks

According to this chart, you are probably somewhere between twenty two and twenty four weeks? Yes? It is true that most women do feel their baby move at some time between 18 and 22 weeks, but this is not the case for ALL women. We are all different. I have known another woman to have only felt her baby move when she was 24 weeks along. I'm sure everything is fine, as you said - you have heard the heart beat!

Your question does however prompt me to ask if you are certain that you are as far along as you think you are? Have you had an ultrasound confirming your due date? If not, you may have ovulated late in your cycle, and may be a week or so behind. Or, perhaps you are not recognising the movements? They aren't at all what I expected them to feel like!

Generally thin women feel their baby moving earlier. Also for women who are pregnant for a second or subsequent time, movement is generally felt earlier - this is because the uterus muscles are more slack after having one child, and they know what the movements feel like.

Maybe you're not far enough along to feel the baby move, yet. I didn't feel it until about 5 or 6 months. Your baby is healthy so don't worry. Some babies are more active than others. I always used to feel my son kick when I was laying down getting ready to go to sleep for the night.

What you need to do is just lay down somewhere comfortable for about an hour (in silence) and just hold your belly and listen for kicks (it is called kick counts), you can do this throughout the day, you should feel something

ask your doctor

Charliene...that is complicated to spell, it could get annoying that it is so confusing and she has to spell it like this the rest of her life, but never really liked that name too much, reminds me of something from the 70's or 80's..

but I like the name elizabeth as a middle name

I like the name Amber Elizabeth, Madison Elizabeth

p.s. I wouldnt drink soda if I were you, not healthy

Good name, but back off the fancy spelling. Remember, she is going to have to live with this puppy all her life.

It is not unusual for the fetus not to start getting 'frisky' until the seventh or eighth month. She is having a great time, just hanging out in that warm, snugly womb. Don't give the kid a complex before she even arrives. Soft music is also a very good thing starting at this time of pregnancy. Folk, new age, classical....NO metallica

I think you ARE feeling the baby move, you just don't realize what it is..do you every feel "butterflies" or you feel something in your belly that you haven't felt before but you are not sure what it is...it is probably your baby. At this point in the pregnancy, you may be able to SEE the baby move....Lie down on your back and WATCH your belly......it may help to talk to the baby...you will be able to see movement in your belly. The first time it happens is really strange and you may feel a little weird, but it is NORMAL. I hope this helps....BTW.....I think the name is beautiful, but..the only thing that matters is what YOU think.

as long as the baby is healthy and you hear a heart beat don't worry. this is your first pregnancy and it still may be too early for you to be able to feel anything your probably have felt something and just don't realize yet that that is the baby, but if you are worried ask your dr. to do an ultrasound that way you will feel better.. congratulations!!!!

I was about 6 1/2 months preggers with my first daughter when i felt her kick for the first time. it feels like muscle spasms in your tummy, literally...you'll feel the baby move soon, and it'll be a feeling like no other, trust me.

oh, and for her name...that's a beautiful name. We didn't have a name for my daughter Hope, until I was already out of surgery, and it just kind of came to her dad...go with whatever pops in to your head after you have baby, and go with what feels right...also, read some baby name books, and mark the ones that mean the most to u

Beautiful name.
And as far as the movement goes, some babies don't have abundant movement, My first one, I only barely felt until I was six and a half months preggo. It felt like butterflies in there at first, then it slowly progressed into a sharp kick in the ribs, hang on you will be feeling it soon
And as long as the doc isn't concerned I wouldn't worry.

My son did most of his kicking during the EARLY morning. I guess he slept during the day. I didn't feel him moving around unless I was up at the butt crack of dawn for something. I wouldn't worry about it. I was alittle scared too but he came out okay.
As far as Charliene I'm not sure. Sounds alittle like an old ladies name. Sorry :(
If I had a girl I was going to name her Lillian Abigail
