The best player on the Reds is not a position player right now. The best player is Bronson Arroyo hands down. He is 9-4, but should be better because of little run support, and has a 2.47 ERA. He has 80 K's and only 21 walks. Now one swing of the bat can't win you a game from Adam Dunn or Austin Kearns, but a 9 inning shutout can, so thats why you have to go with a pitcher and the best one is Bronson Arroyo.

griffey is the reason the reds drew any fans over the past couple seasons, and now that the reds are in contention he is also producing at the plate. he remains one of the best defensive outfielders in baseball and if he can stay healthy his ascent up the all time home run list should provide him with plenty of reason to bring everything he has to the game.

however, the most valuable red this season would have to be Bronson Arroyo. he currently leads the majors in ERA and was a steal of a trade from Boston. it questionable whether or not he can keep up his performance but right now he would look like the cy young winner if the season ended today.

of course, if you are talking about the best red of all time, that of course would be pete rose.
