ya i've been doing pilates for three years now and it's really helped my posture, balance, flexibility and core strength. it gives you also a new body awareness with how to hold your body.

its so great because you usually use your own body as weight and resistance and it really tones up your body.

Pilates builds strength from your core, which makes other, more energetic types of excerise easier, and mental focus on those particular areas while working them is a plus. Walking (esp. briskly) is always good. Any type of physical actiivty - esp. cardiovascular, at least 20 mins. worth, will burn calories and generate more energy. If one changes eating patterns, hand in hand with exercise, is where real success and good results blossom. It's a never-ending battle though, it seems.
