because we are too arrogant to concede that we are only a small part of a vast universe and it does not revolve around earth or human life.

I think that people have a hadr time believing that we are not the only ones here because they feel that they would not be as special as they believe themselves to be. If we were one of a few species in the universe then we would just be part of a group. That would also mean that there is a chacne that we are not the smartest species here either, then we would feel threatened because a smarter species could wipe us out, or make our world a lot better. But people alwyas think of the negative, and as humans we like to feel as if we have some sort of control int eh things that go on around us and in our lives.

Cus that would almost prove evloution and disprove GOD made us out of his image , if there are other beings out there they he can't be Gods special creating ..kinda disproving reiligion as a whole. ..and well the religious nuts would go ape shxt ...plus they would have no reason to get up on sundays and go to a place too meet other brainwashed people.

I think it's because most christian people tend to believe that because if it doesn't say anything in the Bible about it it can't possibly exist. I believe that there are a lot of things God didn't tell us. He gave us the ability to reason and a free will. The ability to discover things for ourselves. Maybe there are other life forms out there somewhere. Who knows? As for the universe it is infinite. There seems to be no end to it.
