whats like the thing off the 00 decade? what well be remembered when we look back on this decade?
the 50s were all sock hops and poodle skirts (maybe im not certain, but thats just what i think about when i think of the 50s). 60s were all hippie dippie. (dude i wish i was alive) the 70s were all disco inferno. the 80s rocked so hard and was awesome with the 80sish big hair and what not. the 90s were grungeish alternative ska rock. which was pretty cool. what is the 00s? i feel like my decade is totatly sucking balls man. i mean what will the 00s be known for? emo boys and girls who sit on myspace all day or what? what will people think about when they think of the 00s? what do you think will be the thing in the 10s? something cooler i hope....

Here in Ohio I see a lot of boys shaving their heads, wearing pants halfway off their butts, and getting piercings and tattoos.
Girls are getting piercings, tattoos, and wearing clothes that don't match and sleeves that cover their hands.
Girls and boys both tend to be changing partners more often than they did in past years too.Grandparents are raising more of their grand kids now than ever, and more people are on cell phones more than they are on house phones. Kids spend more time on the video games than they do sleeping, and they don't eat food that is good for them.
Parents are loosing control over their children, and children are learning sooner how to control their parents.

I think they will be the "closing" years or "isolation" years.

Increasingly, people close themselves off from the rest of the world, preferring to spend time with video games, online posting (like me, now), and trying to keep the outside world from interferring.

The US is closing one border, and there are fears of more terrorists who have crossed from the other.

How many windows do you have that you keep without blinds or curtains? We don't want others to see into our lives. We want to keep children safe from outsiders who might do them harm, which is more efficiently done inside.

There is a pendulum in the generations of Americans that goes from overprotection of children (1930s and today) to underprotection (1970s). We are isolating ourselves from our neighbors, from other countries, and in many ways from the world economy and world issues.

The 20-teens will continue the trend, particularly if history follows its pattern of an outward-driven crisis period (the most recent being the Great Depression/WWII era, moving back to the Civil War, and before it the War for American Independence.

We will continue to develop technologies and leisure activities that require spending less time making actual contact with other people. Meanwhile, members of Generation X (b. 1961 to 1981) will strengthen the bonds of families... that's our historical lot in life.

I think we will have to wait and see what stands out. History in general is like that. Hopefully, it will be for "Do your own thing".
