No, I give to charity instead. Those people you see will use it for alcohol or drugs. Most of them are phonies. There was a story in the newspaper here about a woman who had a small child with her and was begging. People gave her money and even offerred her a place to stay. A camera took a picture of her getting into a Mercedes at the end of the day.

Man, I live in San Francisco...EFF that. They make the city smell, they make the city look horrible, and they are a general discgrace to this great city. I actually didn't have this attitude 6-7 years ago. But enough is enough. Every station, evey corner--you'd think this is a 3rd world country. Here's what happened a couple of weeks ago. Eating at outdoor diner (actually finishing up); homeless lady comes up and asks for a couple of bucks (there's 7 of us); I offer her my leftovers (a nice restaurant mind you); lady refuses the food and asks can I giver her a couple of dollars instead. EFF that. Smoke crack somewhere else lady. But not in my city. Since when did homeless people become so effing choosy? If you can stand up on two feet and ask for chancge, You can stand up and say "Welcome to Mcdonald's, how cna I help you." Absolutely will not and refuse to give that scum anything.

I do if I have some money to spare. Since I usually pay things with my debit card I rarely have any lose money but I try. I rather give the homeless person food rather than money since most of the time they ask for spare change so they can go buy something to eat :)

No, I dont give them nothing. I see 99% of them as lazy good for nothings, and only that 1% that are truly needy. Not good enough odds for me to give any of them anything.

I've seen the ones that put on the old clothes and hold the signs. After a hard days work they walk a mile or so, get in their late model car and drive home. Some take home hundreds of sucker dollars everyday. They could work a normal job if they wanted to, but they dont (want to).

depends...if that person has no legs or something that doesn't allow them to work, i may give a coin.... if the person is in one piece, i think "remove myself from my path bum", it's true these people win much more than lots of hard-working people, but also it's true lots of this "homeless" are managed by mafias, there's a whole underwold there.

i give money to the homeless whenever i have the chance to.

i heard of that story about white collar rich people dressing as homeless people to either make a litle money on the side or to cheat the system and deny the real homeless people donations. thats just wrong.

the only time i ever give money to homeless people is if they are doing something. so musicians always get my dollar, but i have never given money to anyone with a sign, well except for this one time when a deaf-mute man shoved a card in my hand and basically took my two dollars without me realizing it.

Not usually. I don't have much money and I work hard for what I've got. But twice I have given food to someone who looked homeless. At least I know what they are going to do with the food as opposed to, say, using the money for liquor!

Nope, I try not to give them money. I'd rather give them food, like some leftover I bagged from a restaurant or something. I actually don't trust what they might do with money. I don't want them spending it on booze or drugs...then what's the point.
